The phrasal verb run something by someone (or run by) means to show someone an idea, plan, or document to get their opinion or approval. It is used when you want feedback or permission before proceeding.

We can use it in various tenses: "Let me run that by my manager" or "I ran the proposal by the team yesterday."

For example: “That sounds like a solid plan, but you should run it by the boss first.”

Le verbe à particule run something by someone signifie soumettre une idée, un plan ou un document à quelqu'un pour obtenir son avis ou son approbation. On l'utilise quand on veut un retour ou une permission avant de continuer.
